 My People, My Society

Yes, it is ignorance, it is the lack of education. Our schools and religious institutions did not produce a society built on solid foundations, guided by civilized values. They have frozen our minds, limiting our ability to think and realize things critically, leaving us as blind followers.

We don't understand the purpose

of our lives. We are moving without clear objectives, yet we are deceived by slogans. We have not realized this because we were never taught that our religion is supreme and encompasses all aspects of life. It teaches us how to manage our individual lives and how to deal with our collective responsibilities as a society and as a country or state.

On top of that, we have become materialistic. Material wealth dominates our thoughts—in reality, we are slaves to it. All of this has cast a shadow over our life’s purpose, and we can no longer see it. As a result, we falsely believe that we are the ones who know best and that we are superior.

Whether it is the current baseless road protests of political parties, whether it is in the name of language in Pashtun areas, or whether it is the so-called liberalism targeting the values established by Allah, our society is collapsing. Sometimes, I feel that silence is better. Silence is preferable because waking up a nation seems like speaking to an ignorant society.

May Allah have mercy upon us. Ameen.

ہاں، یہ جہالت ہے، یہ تعلیم کی کمی ہے۔ ہمارے اسکولوں اور مذہبی اداروں نے ایک ایسا معاشرہ نہیں بنایا جو ٹھوس بنیادوں پر قائم ہو اور مہذب اقدار کی رہنمائی کرے۔ انہوں نے ہماری سوچ کو منجمد کر دیا ہے، ہمارے ذہنوں کو محدود کر دیا ہے کہ ہم چیزوں کو سوچنے اور سمجھنے کی صلاحیت سے محروم ہو گئے ہیں، اس طرح ہم اندھے مقلد بن گئے ہیں۔

ہمیں اپنی زندگی کا مقصد معلوم نہیں۔ ہم بغیر کسی واضح مقصد کے چل رہے ہیں، اور پھر بھی ہم نعرے بازی سے دھوکہ کھا رہے ہیں۔ ہمیں یہ احساس نہیں ہوا کیونکہ ہمیں یہ سکھایا ہی نہیں گیا کہ ہمارا مذہب وہ ہے جو سب سے اعلیٰ ہے اور جو زندگی کے تمام پہلوؤں کا احاطہ کرتا ہے۔ یہ ہمیں سکھاتا ہے کہ ہم اپنی انفرادی زندگی کیسے گزاریں اور بحیثیت معاشرہ اور بحیثیت ملک اپنے اجتماعی معاملات کیسے نمٹائیں۔

اور اس کے اوپر ہم مادہ پرست ہو گئے ہیں۔ مادی چیزیں ہمارے خیالات پر غالب ہیں، حقیقت میں ہم ان کے غلام ہیں۔ ان سب نے ہماری زندگی کے مقصد پر سایہ ڈال دیا ہے اور ہم اسے دیکھ نہیں پاتے۔ نتیجے کے طور پر ہم یہ سمجھنے لگے ہیں کہ ہم سب سے زیادہ جانتے ہیں اور ہم سب سے بہتر ہیں۔

چاہے وہ موجودہ بے بنیاد سیاسی جماعتوں کی سڑکوں پر ہڑتالیں ہوں، چاہے وہ پشتون علاقوں میں زبان کے نام پر ہو، یا نام نہاد لبرل ازم ہو جو اللہ کی قائم کردہ اقدار کو نشانہ بناتا ہے، ہمارا معاشرہ ٹوٹ پھوٹ کا شکار ہے۔ کبھی کبھی مجھے لگتا ہے کہ خاموشی بہتر ہے۔ خاموشی اس لیے بہتر ہے کہ قوم کو جگانا ایک جاہل معاشرے سے بات کرنے کے مترادف ہے۔
