We Are Fortunate – We Are Pakistan By Noor Qureshi

We Are Fortunate – We Are Pakistan

By Noor Qureshi

We are truly blessed — for we are Pakistan.

This land is not just a country; it is a divine gift from Allah.

In it, He united people of different ethnicities, languages, and cultures, binding them with the powerful thread of Islam and Muslim brotherhood.

Not based on race, tribe, or secularism — but on the eternal values of faith and unity.

This alone is enough to be thankful for.

Let us express our gratitude to Allah by dedicating ourselves, day and night, to every corner of this sacred land.

Let us elevate the people of Pakistan — morally, culturally, and intellectually.

Let each one of us begin with self-awareness, and extend that enlightenment across the nation.

That day is not far when this piece of earth shall become a true symbol of Islam…

A land of peace, and a light for the world.

So today, let us take a firm pledge:

That we will abandon division, prejudice, laziness, and selfishness.

We will rise above hatred and shallowness.

Together, with sincerity and passion, we will build a great and glorious nation — Pakistan.

The Stand of Imam Hussain (RA) Against Yazid — A Timeless Legacy of Truth and Resistance

The Stand of Imam Hussain (RA) Against Yazid — A Timeless Legacy of Truth and Resistance

The martyrdom of Imam Hussain ibn Ali (RA) in the plains of Karbala is one of the most significant events in Islamic history. It is not merely a story of tragedy, but a profound lesson of courage, morality, and unwavering stand against tyranny. While many remember the sacrifice, fewer reflect deeply on why Imam Hussain (RA) rose, why he rejected Yazid, and whether his stand — even with a small number — was justified in the light of Islamic principles.

·         Imam Hussain (RA) was among the key figures who strongly opposed Mu‘awiyah’s (RA) decision to appoint his son Yazid as Wali al-Ahd (crown prince). Alongside other noble companions like Abdullah ibn Zubair (RA) and Abdur Rahman ibn Abi Bakr (RA), he believed that such hereditary succession was against the Islamic model of leadership, which is based on shura (consultation) and merit, not monarchy. He said that ( if the religion of Islam is with Yazid, then I have no religion). - Tarikh al-Kamil, Ibn Athir

·         Yazid assumed the government in Rajab 60 AH (April 680 CE). Within days, he instructed the governor of Madinah, Walid ibn Utbah, to force Imam Hussain (RA) to pledge allegiance. Hussain (RA) refused immediately, left Madinah, and migrated to Makkah. Therefore, his opposition began in the very first month of Yazid’s rule. He remained in Mecca for several months, receiving thousands of letters from the people of Kufa, requesting him to come and lead them against Yazid’s oppressive rule.

·         Imam Hussain (RA) stood against Yazid not because of personal ambition, but because:

Yazid’s appointment violated Islamic principles of leadership. Yazid’s immoral behavior — including open sin, drinking, and disregard for religious obligations — made him unfit to lead the Ummah. Accepting Yazid would legitimize corruption, setting a dangerous precedent. I did not rise for rebellion, arrogance, or corruption. I rose to reform the Ummah of my grandfather ." Imam Hussain in Tarikh al-Tabari.  So This was a religious and moral mission, not a political campaign.

·         Imam Hussain (RA) did not seek to start a civil war or provoke violence in the holy lands. He knew: Madinah and Makkah were sacred and vulnerable to bloodshed. Open mobilization would trigger military action by Yazid’s forces. His intent was not rebellion but to respond to a cry for help from Kufa. He left Makkah before Hajj to avoid bloodshed in the holy city, again proving his peaceful intentions.

·         After learning that his cousin and ambassador, Muslim bin Aqeel (RA), had been killed in Kufa, Imam Hussain offered his companions the chance to return. However, he was soon intercepted by Yazid’s army near Karbala. He tried to negotiate peace even then, but all his offers were rejected.

·         Imam Hussain (RA) gave three reasonable options to avoid confrontation: (1)  Let me return to Madinah. (2)  Let me meet Yazid directly and speak to him. (3) Allow me to go to the eastern frontiers to fight non-Muslims.  All three were refused by Ubaydullah ibn Ziyad, Yazid’s governor in Kufa. The only demand was unconditional surrender, which Imam Hussain (RA) saw as humiliating and a betrayal of truth.

·         In Islamic law, defending oneself against oppression, even with a smaller force, is permitted and noble. The Qur'an permits fighting in self-defense . Hazrat syedna Imam Hussain (RA) and 72 companions were surrounded unjustly. They were denied water, threatened, and cornered. Fighting back was the only honorable and moral choice left.

·         Imam Hussain’s (RA) legacy is not about politics or tribal conflict. It is about truth over falsehood, dignity over humiliation, and principle over survival. His refusal to surrender to an unjust ruler — even if it meant death — is a timeless message for all generations. "Death with dignity is better than life with disgrace."— Imam Hussain (RA)

·         The tragedy of Karbala reminds us that standing for justice is always right, even when the odds are against you. It teaches that Islam does not tolerate tyranny, even from a so-called “Caliph.” And it shows us that sometimes, one man’s sacrifice can shake the conscience of the Ummah forever.

Rational Answers to Common Atheist Questions By Noor Qureshi

Rational Answers to Common Atheist Questions
By Noor Qureshi

In a world dominated by scientific reasoning and logic, many atheists raise thoughtful questions about the existence of God:

·         If everything needs a cause, who caused God?

·         If the universe began with the Big Bang, what was there before it?

·         If God exists, where is He, and why can’t we see Him?

·         If God is not made of matter, how can He exist?

·         If God is beyond time and space, how can He interact with our world?

·         Why believe in something we cannot test scientifically?

·         Isn’t religion just emotional comfort?

·         If suffering exists, how can God be good?

·         Doesn’t evolution explain life without needing a Creator?

·         If God created the universe, what was He doing before that?

·         Why does God need worship?

·         If God knows everything, do we still have free will?

These questions are not minor — they reflect a sincere quest for understanding. But they also rely entirely on the limitations of the human mind, which itself is a creation. Can a limited mind grasp the One who is unlimited?

The Limits of Human Understanding

Consider this:
A child cannot grasp algebra.
A villager may not understand artificial intelligence.
Even among adults, some solve complex physics problems while others cannot read them.

If we accept these variations in human intelligence, why struggle to accept that the Creator of the universe possesses knowledge and power far beyond human comprehension?

Atheists often argue: You compare God to a carpenter making a table — but that carpenter uses tools, time, and materials. So how can God create the universe without tools or time?

The answer is simple: Allah is not like a carpenter. He is outside time, space, and matter. He does not require tools. He does not depend on anything.

"When He wills a thing, He only says to it: 'Be', and it is." (Qur’an 36:82)

While humans shape existing materials, Allah creates from nothingخلق من العدم. He created time, space, matter, and energy itself. Thus, He is not bound by them.

Science, the Big Bang, and the Qur’an

Scientists say the universe began with a "singularity" — a point of infinite energy and density. But what exactly was that energy? No one can truly define it.

Interestingly, the Qur’an already hinted at this:

"Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity (ratq), and We separated them (fatq)..."
(Surah Al-Anbiya 21:30)

Whether the singularity involved energy, light, or something beyond human understanding, it was created — and only Allah is uncreated.

Why Can’t We See or Measure God?

Many ask: Where is God? If He exists, why can’t we see Him?

But this is like asking: What does light taste like? — it's the wrong type of question.

Our brains are programmed to perceive time, space, and matter, but God is not bound by these.

“You have not been given of knowledge except a little.” (Surah Al-Isra 17:85)

We cannot use our finite tools to fully understand the infinite Creator.

Even in science:

·         You can’t see gravity — but you observe its effect.

·         You can’t touch love — but you feel it.

·         You can’t test logic or morality in a lab — yet they guide civilizations.

So, not seeing God with physical eyes is not a valid proof of His nonexistence.

There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the All-Hearing, All-Seeing.” (Surah Ash-Shura 42:11)

God and the Origin of Everything

Let’s break this down philosophically and scientifically.

1. Everything that begins needs a cause

God did not begin to exist. He is eternal, without a beginning or end — and hence needs no cause.

2. Time and space began with the universe

Before the Big Bang:

·         No time.

·         No space.

·         No matter.

So, the cause of the universe must be:

·         Timeless

·         Spaceless

·         Immaterial

·         Powerful

·         Intelligent

That sounds like… God.

3. The universe can’t create itself

If it didn’t exist, it couldn’t cause itself. Something beyond must have caused it — and that something must be uncaused.

Design, Not Coincidence

The universe has precise laws and fine-tuned constants:

·         Gravity, light speed, atomic structure — all perfectly balanced for life.

·         Even slight changes would make the universe lifeless.

This level of precision strongly suggests a Designer. As the Qur’an asks:

“Were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators?”(Surah At-Tur 52:35)

Coincidence can't explain the order and structure we observe.

The Spiritual Dimension

Ultimately, understanding the Creator is not just intellectual — it's spiritual.

"Indeed, it is not the eyes that are blind, but the hearts within the chests that are blind." (Surah Al-Hajj 22:46)

Some people will hear the arguments but still resist belief — not because of lack of evidence, but because of arrogance, pain, or pride.

If there were no God, why is there something rather than nothing? The most rational answer is that there is a necessary, eternal, powerful, and intelligent Being behind all of creation.

“Allah is the Creator of everything.”(Surah Az-Zumar 39:62)

The human brain — though powerful — is still limited. It was created, functions within time, and is bound by senses. Expecting it to fully comprehend the infinite, timeless, and all-powerful Creator is like asking a calculator to appreciate poetry.

Faith in God is not blind — it is built on reason, revelation, and reflection. Islam does not reject science; it completes it. It answers not only how we exist, but why. Ultimately, belief in God is not just about logic — it's also about humility.
